To take into account
- Rosales centenarian. Should he take part in this match, Roberto Rosales will play his 100th match with Málaga CF in LaLiga. He will become the 21st MCF player to reach the centenary. In three League campaigns, he has accumulated 99 matches (all in the starting line-up, and 95 complete games), totalling 8,790 minutes of play.
- Going for the third consecutive win. Since last season, Málaga CF hasn’t managed a run of three wins in the League competition. Last year, it was between the 16th and 18th matches.
Historical curiosities
- After the First Division League ended in the 1952/53 season, the brilliant CD Málaga coach, Helenio Herrera went to Deportivo to head up the team in the promotion stage to the First Division.
- The legendary Juan Arza, a CD Málaga player in the 1942/43 season, was also a coach of Deportivo de La Coruña. A similar case was that of Carlos Torres, who played for CD Málaga, and was also a player and coach of Deportivo.
The first Deportivo-MCF
On 16th October 1999, the first Deportivo de La Coruña-Málaga CF took place at Riazor, corresponding to the 8th First Division match of 1999/00.
