The Blue and Whites are travelling to Madrid to face the ‘Colchonero’ rival in the first round of the Copa de la Reina, kicking off on Sunday at 17:45.
The Copa de la Reina is about to get underway, and is doing so in an historic manner, with all teams in Liga Iberdrola taking part. The Malaguistas are facing Atlético de Madrid Femenino in the first qualifying round of the competition. Kick-off is on Sunday at 17:45
This is the first time Málaga CF Femenino is participating in this competition under this name, However, Malaguista history has fond memories of the Copa de la Reina. Even though the Martiricos outfit hasn’t taken part in the Cup competition since the 2001/02 season, in 97/98 they were proclaimed champions under the Atlético Málaga name. A year before, 96/97, the Blue and Whites were runners-up, and in 1999/00 they took part but didn’t claim the title.
Now the Blue and Whites have another date with history at the Ciudad Deportiva Wanda against the current First Division leaders.
The 18 players called-up by coach Antonio Contreras for this match are: Chelsea, Postigo, Encarni, Leti, María R., P. Fernández, Mascaró, Adriana, Pamela, Raquel, Ruth, Natalia, Kuc, C. Minori, Dominika, Celia, Míriam and Stefany.
