Defeat for Málaga CF Femenino by 4-2 against Atlético de Madrid in the first round of the Copa de la Reina with goals from Adriana and Misa.
Málaga were orderly and well-defined at the back. They showed solid defence in the face of the Atlético de Madrid onslaught, and after 15 minutes the match tempered, and equality prevailed. Both sides shared possession and Stefany, debuting in an official match defending the Blue and White goal, prevented the ‘Colchonero’ attempts without any problems.
The clearest chance for Málaga came thanks to María Ruiz in 22’, but the ball sailed over the line and the subsequent shots from Adriana and Leti also failed to find the net. However, in 32’, Ludmila found a gap in the solid Blue and White defence to take the locals 1-0 up. On the border of half-time, the same Atleti player scored again and the first half ended with a 2-0 lead for the home side.
Following the break, the balance tipped in favour of the ‘Colchonero’ rival. Five minutes into the second half, Ludmila scored the 3-0, and three minutes later scored the 4-0 for her team. However, Málaga didn’t give up. They showed fight and character. As such, in 69’, a perfectly executed free kick from Adriana’s right leg made it 4-1 on the scoreboard to breathe life into the Blue and Whites’ game.
The gap narrowed further as Misa made it 4-2 in 74’. Adriana crossed to the striker, who controlled the ball and surpassed María Isabel. The Malaguista squad generated more occasions but didn’t score any further goals. There was no time for more and the final result was 4-2.
