Manu Molina: “We have taken a step forward”

The Málaga CF midfielder held a press conference following the victory against CD Alcoyano. “We are very happy, these are three enormous points of pride and hard work,” he stated.

Tough ground

“Since the Recre game ended we knew that we were coming to a difficult ground, here they are going to push us. We got ahead in the first half, which was very good for what the game required and what the coach asked of us. Very happy for the three points and for the 0-3 win.”

Personal performance

“Collectively, the team has taken a step forward, we knew that we had to have consistency and regularity. Individually, I’m very happy, having minutes, confidence and continuity and I feel very comfortable with the trust of teammates and the coach. I like to help the team and I try to do my best.”

Difficulty despite the result

“This ground is very complicated, even with one more player we didn’t read the game well and we relaxed a little. They are difficult games to win, and we have to give value to these three points. It was the most important game of the remaining 14, these are three enormous points of pride and hard work. We are leaving very happy, now it’s time to rest and think about Ibiza.”

Gameplan

“It’s very difficult to play here, we saw that when we went 0-1 up they reached the area five times, they hit the crossbar and with a man down in the second half they had a penalty to get into the game. The gameplan went very well, the coach did very well, we worked hard and this is more than three points.”

Fruitful start

“Scoring early gives you confidence, we have players upfront who can open up games for you. We scored on a throw-in, the second goal came quite quickly and that gives you peace of mind. We cannot relax, there are 13 games left, now comes a very nice game against Ibiza. We have to focus on ourselves and play our football, we are doing very well.”

Connection with Dani Lorenzo and David Ferreiro

“We are footballers who like to associate, not hide, have the ball and the three of us get together. Things are going well for us and when things go well, the individual stands out. The team is working very well collectively, one or the other can play, and they do it equally well.”

Focused on us

“We came here to do our job without looking at Ibiza or Castellón, we had to come here to win and tomorrow they will play their game. We are super happy, we have won at a tough ground. Castellón has to come here. Let's enjoy tomorrow when we have a break and prepare for the Ibiza game starting on Monday or Tuesday, which we are looking forward to next Sunday.”
