Manolo Sánchez: “We’re prepared to compete against any rival”

The second Malaguista coach will be in the dugout at Montilivi as Pellicer complies with the second of a two-match ban: “We’re going there with the aim of coming home with points”.

The rival - Girona FC

“They are a very complete team that dominate many aspects of play. They combine well in the opposing half, play between the lines, with good aerial play. They concede many goals, but we need to be very cautious and give great importance to generating opportunities. We’re prepared to compete against any rival”.

MCF, a bad guest

“We are the fifth-sixth best team away from home and have a good dynamic. We know how to add points and compete in away games. We’re going there with the aim of coming home with points, and also work on improving our stats at home”.

First time at the helm

“It’s a great experience, I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s a shame we didn’t get the desired result, but the players help to make everything easier. It will be great if we win tomorrow. Rest and operational strategy are very important in these marathon matches”.

All players are important

“They are capable of giving their all and earning their place on the squad. This makes us get the most out of the team. You can see that every player wants to be available and its exciting when everyone’s there as they’ll all be essential in the coming weeks. The matches are demanding, with games every three days, so it’s an important opportunity for them to take a step forward”.

Aspects to improve

“We’re adapting, there are things we need to improve. We know what we’re going through, with certain imbalances in defence. We have to adjust to try to correct where we’re going wrong. We’re obsessed with analysis, we know what needs to be improved, and it’s only a matter of time before we have a clean sheet”.
