The first leg of the second round of the promotion playoffs to the Segunda Federación will take place at the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground this Sunday 14th May at 12:00.
The first leg of the second round of the promotion playoffs to Segunda Federación now has a date, time and place for Atlético Malagueño. Funes' team will face El Palo FC this Sunday at 12:00 on the main pitch of the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground.
Loyal Malaguistas can attend Malagueño-Palo free of charge, presenting their card at the entrance, until capacity is reached. For the remaining fans, the ticket offices will open one hour and twenty minutes before the start of the match and the tickets will cost €5.
The Blue and White team won the first tie against Real Jaén CF. The 1-1 draw in the first leg and the 1-1 result in the second leg would have led Jaén to qualify, with the best ranking in the regular phase of the competition, but Malagueño came from behind in extra time with a goal from Juanma (97'). Palo FC, meanwhile, reach this second tie after beating UD Torre del Mar (2-1 on aggregate), also with a goal in extra time.
This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. In the first round, in December, the match ended in a 0-0 draw at Nuevo San Ignacio, while in the second-round match, played a month ago, they tied at 1-1.
In the event of a draw at the end of regulation time for the second leg, the match will go to extra time. However, there would be no penalty shootout, with the group's best ranked team going through. In this case, it would be El Palo.
If they pass the second round, in the third and final round, Malagueño will fight for promotion against a rival that will be chosen by pure draw without territorial limitation.
The next step on the path to the Segunda Federación will take place this Sunday at 12:00 at the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground.
