Málaga CF to release 300 captain’s armbands for sale

The fans’ unconditional support has been a constant throughout the season. The complex situation that the team has been through since the beginning of the campaign has had only one response from the Malaguistas: love for their own.

Every matchday, regardless of where the fixture was held, the team was cheered on during the 90 minutes. The fans have incessantly encouraged the lads, proving once again to be an example of Memory, Commitment and Faith.

For all the Malaguistas who have accompanied us this season at La Rosaleda, giving us the second highest attendance in the category. For the 5,000 fans who joined us at the open-door training session on Three Kings Day. For the thousands of kilometres and hours of travel that the Malaguistas dedicated to the Blue and White colours. For all these reasons, Málaga CF developed an initiative for the fans to accompany the team on the pitch.

The Entity wanted to offer the fans a part of the love they have received, and continue to receive, during the current season. Since the match at the Anxo Carro, when the team played against CD Lugo with more than 500 Malaguistas in attendance, the armband has been dedicated to fans who, like the figure of the captain, exemplify and honour the Blue and White Values of Malaguismo. In addition, in appreciation of this unconditional Blue and White love, the original armbands have been raffled among all the Loyal Malaguistas. Javier Navarro Serrano and Abraham Torres Ortega were the lucky ones to win these wonderful pieces.

The first, designed by the club, featured the shield and various Malaguista fans cheering with their scarves in the air within the horizontal Blue and White stripes. Both wearing shirts featuring the number 12, usually assigned to the importance of the fans and their influence as another player.

The second, created by international artist, José Luis Puche, is a masterpiece where the shield crowns the 'canvas', imposing itself on the flag of the city of Málaga - green and purple. On the sides, the Blue and White colours feature with the faces of the fans in the background to complete the scene. To the right of the shield, you can see the profile of Nuestro Padre Jesús Cautivo, the most devoted Christian dedication among the people of Málaga. All of Málaga in its essence featured in Puche’s daring and characteristic style.

Due to the great acceptance by the fans, the club will put 150 of each of the aforementioned designs on sale. Both armbands will be available at the MCF Store in La Rosaleda starting tomorrow, Thursday at 10:00. The price will be €12.

Lastly, José Luis Puche will be present in the run-up to Saturday's game at the MCF Store at La Rosaleda, signing copies of his design, starting at 19:00. As such, fans who acquire one of the 150 armbands will be able to add special and incalculable value to their 'work of art'.

The captain’s armbands that bring the Malaguistas closer to the pitch can now be returned to the fans.
