Malagueño gets a ‘set’ against Marbella with 4 goals from Juanillo
Atlético Malagueño and Unión Deportiva Marbella have played in the Third Division’s Group Nine this morning, Sunday 29th January, with the Malagistas winning 6-1, four of which were secured by Juanillo.
With the stands at the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground at maximum capacity, Atlético Malagueño took to the pitch focused on the importance of getting a victory after failing to win the in their last two games.
However, the match couldn’t have started off worse for the Malaguistas with Marbella putting 0-1 on the scoreboard in the first few minutes. But that was practically the only occasion that the Marbellíes got near to José Carlos’ goal area, as the home side began to dominate possession and opportunities.
Unlike in the last few games, Atlético Malagueño were lucky with the goals, especially Juanillo who put in a great individual performance. His was the goal to draw the match close to half an hour in; he then managed to get 2-1 on the counter, which was achieved by a shot taken from the front of the penalty area that the visitor’s goalie was simply unable to stop. In these first 45 minutes the Malaguistas stole the lead, showing their superior level of play, with a final first half goal by Juanfri.
And the second half began with yet another goal for Málaga and yet again created by Juanillo. 4 -1 and the Malaguistas weren’t resting on their laurels as they perfectly controlled the shy but potentially dangerous approaches from Marbella, who seemed unable to demonstrate why they deserved their second place on the league table. 20 minutes later the fifth goal arrived: an unstoppable shot from the Mosquera.
Just a quarter of an hour to go and Juanillo rounded off his day with his fourth goal, and the sixth of the game for Malagueño.
So in the end it was a 6-1 victory for Atlético Malagueño which not only serves to improve their chances of being in the promotion zone but it also gives a much needed morale boost having achieved a resounding win against the second-placed U.D Marbella.
