Málaga win the Veterans’ battle against Granada CF (3-2)

The Association of Former Málaga Players defeated the Granada CF Veterans yesterday, in the second seven-a-side FEAFV ‘Liga Solidaria’ game of the season, by 3-2. Villar, Rafa and Chiqui scored the Málaga goals.

The match was fairly balanced throughout, with the visitors opening the scoring in minute 20 thanks to a goal from Granada CF’s Reyes who won the one-on-one battle with Málaga’s Koke Contreras.  Four minutes later Villar equalised with a goal from outside the penalty area following a corner.  Málaga’s joy was short-lived as the visitors took the lead again in the 27th minute with a goal by Valero, who took advantage of Málaga losing possession.

The Blue and Whites put on a much more determined performance in the second half, took control of the ball and were rewarded for their hard work with a goal from Rafa Serrano in minute 57.  The Málaga Veterans felt more comfortable on the pitch, which was highlighted by their third goal of the game, a winner from Chiqui.  The Red and Whites continued to search for an equaliser, but Málaga maintained a strong defence to ensure their second win of the season.
