Málaga launches Visa contactless wristband from CaixaBank
The Málaga CF players and coaching team now have their new Visa contactless wristbands which are available, from today, at CaixaBank offices and on their website. The wristband lets you wear your credit card on your wrist and go shopping!
The bank has created the latest generation technological device, bearing Málaga Club de Fútbol’s colours and shield. Ease of payment and the benefits associated with CaixaBank cards give a guarantee to a range of wristbands that were presented today at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium and La Rosaleda.
This payment technology is called contactless, and carries within it a microtag with the encrypted information of the client’s card, and the same security guarantee of normal cards (EMV system). This chip, which enables transactions to be carried out like a normal contactless card, includes a reduced-size gadget with an adjustable clasp, made of anti-allergy materials that the client, wearing it on their wrist, places near the terminal. The device then connects to CaixaBank and the transaction is carried out. From 20 euros, purchases are validated by entering the PIN number of the card.
Win prizes with the wristband in #desafiomalaga (#challengemalaga)
Malaguistas can enjoy a series of prizes and experiences thanks to the CaixaBank initiative, by uploading a photograph with the Málaga CF contactless wristband on Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #desafiomalaga and #malagacf, or on CaixaCard and Málaga CF’s Facebook page, including one of the two hashtags. The prizes range from a meeting with five Blue and Whites’ first team players; a VIP tour of La Rosaleda; a ticket to see a match along with a photo of the whole team; or a series of merchandise from the Club’s official stores.
Security and agility
In 2014, CaixaBank created the contactless wristbands and thanks to their success, they have expanded the range of designs and customisations. In total, there are now over 50,000 clients in Spain who use these wristbands, which can be obtained at the bank’s network of branches, as well as on their website and that of the Club. The comfort, agility and security are guaranteed, as well as the elasticity and resistance to water and humidity.
CaixaProtect free service
The wristband has the same security features as the normal contactless card. It also has the CaixaProtect free service, which protects the client against any possible fraudulent use of its cards. The bank has created a mobile app to inform clients of all the transactions undertaken with the device. The app is free and can be downloaded via SMS, which clients will receive at the time the wristband is activated.
