The Malaguista squad achieved a passport to the final of the promotion playoffs to the Women’s Second Division, after defeating Real Betis Féminas ‘B’ on penalties.
The Blue and Whites’ reserve team have put on an outstanding performance in the promotion playoffs. They defeated Arenas de Armilla de Granada by 0-1 in the first match, and again by 4-0 in Carlinda. These results allowed them to qualify to the next round, where the girls were up against Betis ‘B’. The Malaguistas clinched a 2-2 draw in the first clash against Betis at home, winning a pass to the final on Sunday.
The Málaga squad headed to Sevilla to compete against the Green and Whites at Ciudad Deportiva 'Luis del Sol'. The match kicked off in Málaga’s favour with a goal from Aurora to take a 0-1 lead. The rival turned the result around, with Luisa closing the game with a 2-2 leveller, taking play to an exciting penalty shoot-out. Things were very much even, but a goal from Alba and a save by Lucía were the perfect cocktail to take Málaga CF Femenino’s reserve team to the final of the promotion playoffs. The time and date are still unknown, but the rival is: Cádiz CF.
