Málaga, champions in the Nacional Juvenil League

Málaga Club de Fútbol have, due to their nine point advantage, been confirmed as league champions in Group 13 of the Nacional Juvenil League, despite there being a further two games to play. Congratulations champions!

The Malaguista squad secured the title mathematically after winning 8-1 against Tiro Pichón at Carlinda.  Dani, Ernesto and Domínguez managed the 3-0 before half time.  Leo, vela and Bustos, the latter on three occasions, rounded-off the scoring for the team trained by Carlos Antón.

“This match, this result, reflects the season that we’ve had.  We’re happy, but above all we feel very satisfied for having had achieved the season’s objectives which were about personal and team progression.  The team’s improvement has been constant and the adoption of the model of play that we introduced at the beginning of the campaign has been fantastic.  And this match has been the ‘icing on the cake’ and it reflects all the hard work and effort,” explains Antón.

Not only have the team’s sporting objectives been established, so have the educational values which are a cornerstone for the guys’ training.  “In this match against Tiro Pichón, our captain decided to give the armband to one of his teammates who was playing against his former team, highlighting the strength and support for him in what has been a difficult year.  It could be viewed as just another anecdote but it reflects the spirit and generosity of this dressing room,” comments Carlos Antón.

MCF have had an exceptional season, notching up 61points in 28 out of the 30 league matches.  They’ve won 19 games, drawn in four and lost five, with 78 goals on their favour (an average of 2.7) and 23 against.

Carlos Antón didn’t want to let the opportunity pass without remembering and thanking his coaching staff: Manu, Boris, Pepe, Cecilio, Rafa and Francis, “who have worked hard and who have helped secure this success.”

Now with the Nacional Juvenil League title in the bag, the Malaguistas will visit bottom-placed Poli Ejido for their penultimate game ahead of the present season, before they then take on Estrellas Chana.
