Málaga CF’s La Academia finalise their structure for the start of the season

Following the arrival of Josep Clotet to Atlético Malagueño, La Academia coaching staff for 2012-13 has now been agreed. In relation to last season, there are only two changes; the introduction of Clotet, as well as Andrés Carrasco from Dinamo Tbilisi.

There aren’t many changes to the training tactics of the Football 11 teams in La Academia.  The arrival of Clotet from Norway-based Viking FK, and Andrés Carrasco from Dinamo Tbilisi are the only new arrivals.  Juan Carlos Cuevas has been promoted to Cadete Preferente, ex-Málaga player Manel Ruano is working with the National Juvenil League and as a coordinator, and Carlos Antón with División de Honor, completes the coaching team.

As well as the aim to strengthen links and build on the growth of CD San Félix, La Academia coaches, Antonio Jesús Gálvez and José Antonio Mateo, will be in charge of Juvenil and San Félix respectively:

The coaching staff for 2012/13 is as follows:
At. Malagueño – Josep Clotet
Div. Honor – Carlos Antón
Liga Nacional – Manel Ruano
San Félix Juvenil Preferente – Antonio Jesús Gálvez
Cadete Autonómico – Andrés Carrasco
Cadete Preferente – Juan Carlos Cuevas
San Felix Cadete  - Jose Antonio Mateo
Infantil Autonómico – Javier Morán
Infantil Preferente – Rodrigo Hernando

Changes to the organisation of La Academia

Ahead of the start of the new season, the structure of La Academia del Málaga Club de Fútbol is also being strengthened.  Antonio Carlos Jimémez, from CD La Mosca, will be working with the seven-a-side teams as a coordinator, acting as right hand man to Abdullah Ben Barek.

A new training area is also being implemented, designed specifically to focus on the goalkeepers, coordinated by Manel Benavente, who was in charge of training the keepers in La Academia last season.

La Academia’s sports psychologist, Unai Melgosa has left.  Management is hoping to full this position in the near future.
