Julio Baptista visits La Academia Summer Camp

Málaga CF’s Julio Baptista visited La Academia Summer Camp this Friday morning, at the Hotel Sol Andalusí, in Alhaurín de la Torre.

The Brazilian footballer, currently recovering from injury, shares his experience and his early days as a player with the camp members, as well as answering all their questions.

Statements
(Experience) "I think the children really appreciate meeting the players.  I love spending time with children, as there’s never any malice, and they all have such an incredible purity, I really enjoy their company.  It’s one of the nicest parts of football.”

(Training) “Sometimes the parents of these children not so much forget about studying, but they make football the top priority.  I believe the two go hand in hand, as no-one knows what’s around the corner, and not everyone makes it as a professional footballer.  Football training combines culture and education, and I think the most important thing is that the boys leave here well-educated, which is crucial in today’s society.”

(La Academia Summer Camp) “Working with children is so important.  They learn to play football here, integrate with others, and spend each day completely focused on the sport.  It’s something which is relevant today, and very important.”

(Students wish for Baptista’s speedy recovery) “I can’t wait to get back on the pitch.  It’s been a difficult time for me recently, but I hope that I’ll recover very soon, return to work, and spend my time here (on a football pitch, where the interview took place), which is what I love most.”
