Málaga CF’s ‘Cadetes’ taking part in regional phase of Coca-Cola Cup
The ‘Cadetes’ from the youth academy are participating in the regional phase of the Coca-Cola Cup on Sunday at the municipal ground in Antequera, with eight provincial champions taking part.
Carlos González’s boys are in Group B and will come up against Balón de Cádiz (10:30 a.m.) and UD Almería (6:30 p.m.) The top team from each group will take part in the regional final from 8:30 p.m., hoping for a place in the inter-regional phase, against the champions of Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla.
The ‘Malaguistas’ were named provincial champions last weekend after defeating UD San Pedro (0-4) in the quarter-finals, La Unidad in the semi-finals (4-1) and CD San Félix on penalties following a goalless draw after 40 minutes.
The Coca-Cola Cup is equivalent to the ‘Cadete’ Clubs Spanish Championships, which Málaga CF won back in 2012/13.
