Kuki and Spain’s under-17s eliminated from Europe on penalties

Spain’s under-17s lost out to Germany on penalties in the European quarter-final of the category, held in Bulgaria. Following a goalless draw after 80 minutes, the Germans made no mistakes from the 11-metre mark, whereas Spain missed twice.

Kuki was in the starting-11 and played for 78 minutes.  He showed his quality as a player and generated scoring chances for Spain which unfortunately weren’t converted.  The clearest opportunities to open the scoring came in the first half, with a forceful shot after assistance from Villalba and a controlled shot at the target that was saved by the German keeper.

Spain’s participation in Bulgaria hasn’t yet come to an end however, as on Tuesday they are playing for a qualifying place in the World Cup within this category, taking place in Chile.
