Camacho: “The fans deserve a great end to the season”

The Málaga CF midfielder analyses tonight’s match in a press conference in the mixed zone at El Madrigal. Camacho comments: “The defeat is upsetting for everyone,” but quickly shifted focus to the next rival, Sevilla FC.

“We lost seventh place in a match we had control of, but goals are what matters in football and we weren’t effective or aggressive enough in front of goal,” says the Zaragoza-born player.

Camacho doesn’t talk about disappointment: “I understand we weren’t performing at our best during the second round of the season, but we’ve always been ourselves.  Nobody could have expected we’d reach the position we did.  We’re the first ones to suffer.”

Therefore the team wants to end the season in the best way possible with a win in the forthcoming derby against Sevilla FC: “We want to end this season well, with a full house at La Rosaleda, not finish the year with a bittersweet feeling after such a good season and waste our last chance, even though now we’re not relying on our own results.”
