Murcia-born referee, Sánchez Martínez will be officiating tomorrow. He has previously refereed Málaga CF in the elite four times, resulting in one victory (4-1 against UD Las Palmas, the 38th match of 2015/16), and three defeats for the Blue and Whites. The first Sporting-Málaga CF
On 17th May 2009, Sporting de Gijón and Málaga CF faced each other for the first time in the First Division, at El Molinón. It was the 36th match of the 2008/09 season, which ended in a 2-1 win for the locals (Gerard and a Rosario own goal / Weligton). Antonio Tapia selected the following Malaguista line-up: Goitia; Jesús Gámez, Hélder Rosario, Weligton, Nacho (Rossato 77’); Eliseu, Miguel Ángel (Adrián 59’), Apoño, Duda; Baha (Adriano Ferreira ’59) and Alberto Luque.
