Málaga CF taking part in prestigious international tournament in Burriana

The Blue and White Alevín team, leading the 2ª Andaluza de Málaga, will be participating in the XIII Trofeo Internacional Fallas Ciudad de Burriana. The rivals in the first phase are RCD Espanyol, Villarreal CF and the host team.

The well-renowned 7-a-side team from the MCF Academy is looking forward to the 13th edition of this prestigious tournament, taking place on the 15th, 16th and 17th March in Castellón.

José Castillejo’s Málaga are enjoying a sensational season having won their 23 league games in the only 2ª Andaluza Alevín group in Málaga. A total of 69 points out of 69 with seven matches remaining until the end of the competition, the team has a +9 advantage over the side in second place, with 190 goals scored (18 conceded). In addition, various players on the team are regulars in the call-ups by the Andalusian squad of the category.

Málaga CF are in Group D of the competition, which is distributed as follows in the first phase:  

  • Group A: FC Barcelona, Rayo Vallecano, Lugano CF and CF Salesianos
  • Group B: Real Madrid CF, Real Betis Balompié, Levante UD and Alboraya UD
  • Group C: Sevilla FC, Club Atlético de Madrid, Nagoya Grampus Eight and CD Castellón
  • Group D: RCD Espanyol, Villarreal CF, MÁLAGA CF and Burriana FB

Málaga CF’s match calendar:

  • Friday 15 March: Villarreal CF – MÁLAGA CF
  • Saturday 16 March: RCD Espanyol – MÁLAGA CF
  • Saturday 16 March: MÁLAGA CF – Burriana FB

On Sunday 17 March the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the tournament will take place, the latter between 12:10 and 12:45. Subsequently, the traditional prize-giving ceremony will be held after one of the most esteemed football tournaments in Spain.
