Málaga CF statement

Málaga CF deeply regrets the controversy generated by the resale of Loyal Malaguista tickets for the upcoming match at La Rosaleda against SD Huesca.

The Club has analysed the situation and, taking into account that around 8,000 tickets had already been sold for #MálagaHuesca, there were around 4,000 available since yesterday and they sold out quickly (in around two hours). It should be noted that the available capacity for Loyal Malaguistas was lower than that of the previous match at the time the promotion was launched, as prior ticket sales were available from August 1st, 2022.

Such a high demand wasn’t expected, if the previous match at La Rosaleda is used as a reference, in which with the same promotion, around 5,000 tickets were downloaded in a day and a half for #MálagaCartagena.

Málaga CF is investigating the season ticket holders and Malaguista fans who have resold seats, and will take the appropriate measures when the persons who have carried out this illegal action are located and properly identified. At the moment, there are already five being investigated and disciplinary proceedings have been opened for three of them. As a precautionary measure, access to the ground for those on file has already been suspended.

The Club fervently condemns the illegality of this practice, since the resale of tickets causes clear and obvious damage to Malaguista fans, to football fans in general, and to Málaga Club de Fútbol itself.

We regret that an initiative to reward our Loyal Malaguistas with a free ticket with the aim of filling La Rosaleda, led to the possibility for some of doing business at the expense of Malaguismo.
