Málaga CF returns to training on this bank holiday

Málaga CF underwent a training session this morning in La Rosaleda, despite the national holiday, continuing their preparations for the League match against Celta de Vigo on Saturday. Striker Juanmi held a press conference following the session.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men started this morning’s session at 9:30, the third of the week ahead of the start of the League season. The team focused on continuous running, stretching, ball possession exercises, goal shooting work and a practice match. Camacho returned to the group following his absence yesterday due to a bruised thigh. Eliseu is continuing his recovery, alongside trainer Enrique Ruiz. Kameni has suffered an injury to his left hand, so underwent continuous running in today’s session.

Reserve players Álex Portillo, Víctor Ruiz, Fabrice, Jurado and Diego took part in today’s session, as well as goalkeeper Pol.

Statements by Juanmi

(The team) “The team performed very well throughout the pre-season, though it was tough. We’re now focusing on earning three points from Saturday’s match. Additional players always reinforce the team, and the strikers are working well to ensure the coach can count on us. We’re ready for the start of the League and really looking forward to Saturday and hope to get our first three points of the season. Morale is high in the locker room, we’re all very confident and eager for the League to get underway.”

(Personal form) "This season will be very important for me, as I’ll have a lot more options available to me following the departure of various players. I’ve got to perform as well as I can so I’m ready when the coach needs me.”
