Monreal part of Spain’s starting 11 in their victory against Puerto Rico (1-2)

Málaga CF’s Ignacio Monreal was included in Spain’s starting 11 in yesterday’s match against Puerto Rico. Vicente del Bosque’s men defeated the home side by 1-2 in the Juan Ramón Loubriel de Bayamón stadium.

The left winger performed well for his country, and was substituted in minute 57 by Silva.

It was an easy win for Spain, with goals from Santo Cazorla (42nd minute) and Cesc (44th minute).  However despite the victory, the team lacked rhythm in their style of play, and suffered due to the intense heat.  Puerto Rico converted one of their few chances into a goal to get on the scoreboard in minute 67 (1-2).

Seba, with Uruguay

Málaga CF’s Seba Fernández was also playing for his country yesterday, in Uruguay’s match against France, held in Paris, with Deschamps first appearance as coach.  Although Seba was only on the pitch for two minutes (he came on in minute 88 substituting Forlán), the match ended in a draw.
