Málaga CF against gender violence

To mark International Day against gender violence, Málaga CF, via its Foundation, has signed a protocol of collaboration with the government sub-delegation in Málaga to launch an informative campaign.

During the event, which took place in La Rosaleda’s press room, ‘Malaguista’ player, Nordin Amrabat was present, along with Club adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar and government sub-delegate in Málaga, Miguel Briones, who highlighted the importance of this agreement.

This afternoon, Málaga Club de Fútbol, via its Foundation, and the government sub-delegation in Málaga signed a protocol of collaboration in the fight against gender violence.  Via this agreement, the Martiricos outfit agrees to publicise the informative campaign launched by the government delegation in Andalucía, to mark International Day against gender violence.  Therefore, in the forthcoming match at La Rosaleda, the video screens will display the film that forms part of the ‘ÚNETE’ campaign.

In addition, to support this agreement, Málaga CF has made a video starring players, Roque Santa Cruz, Miguel Torres and Raúl Albentosa in which they show their support for the fight against gender violence, and will be released tomorrow, 25th November, on the International Day for the eradication of gender violence.

“We have the satisfaction that Málaga Club de Fútbol is so committed to the fight against gender violence.  We hope that this commitment will help against this devastating social issue.  The players have a way of communicating with teenagers too, and education is the main armour we have; football players, who people look up to, can reach others more easily and emphasise this solidarity,” comments Briones.  “We are thrilled to be supporting this campaign.  We want to educate the masses so we can end gender violence once and for all,” states Martín Aguilar.

Tackling Abuse

The Málaga CF Foundation will be present at the University of Málaga’s sports facilities on Saturday to take part in the charity event organised by the Custodians Rugby League, which under the slogan, ‘Tackling Abuse’ will raise funds for the Demeter Association.  The event will kick off at 10 a.m., to mark the International Day against gender violence, with the reading of a commemorative manifesto.  The charity entrance fee is 3 euros, and the first 400 women to attend will receive a free t-shirt.  A team shirt signed by the entire ‘Malaguista’ squad will be raffled at the event.
