Málaga CF achieves victory of faith at Vallecas (1-2)

The team rallied from being 1-0 down thanks to goals from Charles and Cop in a great second half, where the boys didn’t give up and got the first away win of the season.

At last Málaga CF’s hard work has paid off.  Although it wasn’t easy.  On a cold morning at Vallecas, Javi Guerra’s goal put Rayo in the lead in minute 6, which was like a bucket of cold water for the ‘Malaguistas’.  Again the Blue and Whites faced an uphill struggle.

The first half ended with the Blue and Whites having the majority of possession, however without any clear chances, but the epic performance was to come in the second half.

Coach, Javi Gracia went all out and in minute 57 brought on Charles and Recio to revolutionise the game.  The striker proved him right when just two minutes later he gained possession from behind on the edge of the area to score a fantastic goal (his personal tally is now up to five).  The curse was now broken having scored the team’s first away goal of the season, and now all that was missing was for the team to take the lead.

Málaga continued with personality, defending the locals’ counter-attack well, as they went in search of another goal.  The 1-2 lead could have come about with a great back heel from Charles to Recio in front of the Rayo keeper, who narrowly missed out on a goal.  Málaga’s hard work deserved good fortune, and a pass from Juankar on the left wing put the ball at Cop’s feet, who made no mistake with a tight shot past the post to find the net and take the lead.

At last the goals have come and the team clinched the first away win of the season.  However, the most important aspects are the feelings surrounding this win and the certainty from some players who never gave up during the match.  This is the third League game in which the team has earned points, and today’s three taste of victory.
