Luis Hernández: “Everyone in the dressing room continues to believe”

The Blue and Whites’ defender affirms the mood is good in the dressing room, with focus now on the match against UD Las Palmas, a direct rival: “We believe that we can do it and hope these last two games will help us against Las Palmas”.

Match analysis

“The result doesn’t feel like much. We were keen to claim the three points at home and do better than when we returned from Eibar with a point, but it didn’t happen. I think in the first half we had opportunities to go in front, whilst in the second half, it was more of a struggle for the team to generate chances. That said, we had the match under control, they didn’t do anything to us. Following the expulsion, it was harder for us, and the rival went all out, but even so, in the final five minutes, the team reached the rival area and we had another two or three approaches, which had they been a little clearer, could have allowed us to take the lead”.

Competitiveness

“In these past two games the team has competed very well. The other day at the very difficult ground that is Ipurua, we played a good match. Today, against a good rival, who is in a comfortable position and for whom it’s easy playing matches like this, we did well, we had the game under control, but we were just lacking the goal. In the end, football is about scoring one more goal than the rival, but it wasn’t to be today”.

Confidence and Las Palmas

“From here until the end of the season, the team will go all out to claim the three points from every game. The next match is against a direct rival, hopefully we’ll continue on the same line as these matches, in which the team competes well, is able to score goals, takes the lead and scores the three points. We continue to believe that we can do it and hope these last two games will help us against Las Palmas”.
