The Blue and Whites are celebrating their ninth victory as they bid farewell to 2014. Goal-scorer Luis Alberto, and team captain, Duda appeared in the mixed zone at the Martínez Valero stadium following the game.
Luis Alberto talks about scoring the winning goal: “Once I found myself on the diagonal, I saw my teammates were outwitting the rival defence, so I knew I had to go for a goal - which I dedicate to my wife and future baby – but the important thing is claiming the three points.”
The Cádiz-born player says there are no limits to this Málaga CF: “We’re achieving good results and we have no option but to keep working as much as we can to try and reach our objectives. We’ve been working much harder than we expected, so now it’s time to really enjoy the competition and perhaps play under less pressure to see what we can achieve.”
In order to fulfil the team’s objectives, Duda says the key is “in humility. It’s important to keep fighting for what we want to achieve as it’s a long season.” On top of Málaga CF’s 30 points, Duda adds: “What we’ve shown we can do on the pitch, and the ability to sacrifice, allowed us to turn the match around.”
From captain to captain, Duda has a few nice words for Santa Cruz: “He’s not left us, although we know that negotiations are at an advanced stage. Roque is an important part of the team, both professionally and personally. We all want to wish him the best of luck as he truly deserves it.”
