Lombán: “We weren’t up to it today”

The Malaguista captain held a press conference following the match against CD Leganés. “We’re all upset in the dressing room,” said the player from Asturias.

The Malaguista captain held a press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda Stadium following the LaLiga SmartBank matchday 21 fixture: “It’s a very difficult day for us,” said the Malaguista number ‘4’.

David sends a message of unity, saying “there’s no need to look for fault. There’s a lot of people in this group and at this club. When things like this happen, it’s time to be self-critical,” he said.

In addition, Lombán said that despite the difficult situation, he’s optimistic for the future: “There’s a bad feeling at the moment, but the good thing about football is that time passes quickly, and we have options to reverse these situations. Luckily, we’re not in a critical situation in terms of the standings or matchdays. There’s a long way to go and we want to return to the level we’ve previously been at at home,” he stated.

Lastly, David said they will use this week to change the dynamic: “We weren’t up to it today, it’s not the time to look for excuses or people to blame. We need to all move forward together, each of us can improve and contribute to the group. This week will be a good time for us to think, reflect and come back with a clear mind,” he added.
