The fast, experienced winger arrives at Málaga CF in ownership after he left his previous club, RCD Mallorca. He has signed a contract with the Entity until 2024 with the option of another year.
Junior Wakalible Lago (12/31/1990, Abidjan - Ivory Coast) is a fast-paced and perceptive footballer who operates predominantly on the left wing, although he can play effectively on the right and on the attack. Fast, explosive, with an unbalancing change of pace and a good shot, he is a reference for his position in the division and a headache for defenders.
Lago made his debut in Spanish professional football at just 18 years old in the ranks of CD Numancia. He debuted on 18/04/09 on matchday 31 of LaLiga Santander (First Division) against Club Atlético de Madrid.
Since then, he has enjoyed a long and fruitful career. In addition to that of CD Numancia, he has worn the jerseys of SD Eibar, Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona, CD Mirandés, RCD Mallorca and SD Huesca. Between the First and Second Division and Copa del Rey he has played a total of 292 official matches scoring 43 goals.
Lago arrives in Málaga as a free agent after parting ways with RCD Mallorca where he played for a total of eight seasons. The player commits to the Entity until 2024 with the option of one more season.
