La Rosaleda honours the heroes of Málaga’s 6-2 win
Before tonight’s match kicked off, La Rosaleda paid a warm tribute to the players who 30 years ago defeated Real Madrid by 6-2. Representatives from that squad, led by Antonio Fernández Benítez, came out on to the pitch to rapturous applause.
Former coach of that team and current Club adviser, Antonio Benitez, along with other players from 30 years ago celebrated the 6-2 win over Real Madrid. Ex-players, Fernando Peralta, Popo, Brescia, Canillas, José Madrona, Toto and Juan Carlos Pérez Frías received an amazing welcome from fans, as the winning result from that day was lit up on the screen.
