The squad gathered in the medical room at La Rosaleda Stadium with staff from Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital, the official medical provider of Málaga CF, who collected the samples and took them for analysis at their facilities.
Club doctor Mario Guerra led the process alongside Dr. Juan Enrique Puche and nurse Lidia Alcázar from Quirónsalud Málaga.
The purpose of these tests is to continuously monitor the health status and physiological performance of the players, complementing the medical and cardiological examinations carried out at the start of pre-season.
Dr. Juan Enrique Puche, cardiologist at Quirónsalud Málaga Hospital, said that “these types of analyses allow the early detection of potential metabolic, nutritional, or haematological alterations that could affect players’ performance or recovery.”
The study includes haematological, biochemical, hormonal, and inflammatory markers, with special attention to iron levels, kidney and liver function, lipid profile, hormonal balance, and markers of fatigue and overload.
“In professional sports, small imbalances can make all the difference. These checks allow us to tailor each player’s nutrition, training load, and recovery individually,” Dr. Puche added.
This medical screening is part of the agreement between Málaga CF and Quirónsalud Málaga as the club’s official medical provider, reinforcing their joint commitment to preventive and precision medicine in sports, where scientific evidence serves both performance and long-term health.
