La Academia teams take part in prestigious national tournaments this weekend

Teams in Málaga Club de Fútbol’s lower ranks are taking part in the famous BlueBBVA National Tournament, the Nike Cup and a new Martos-based competition, with all the best clubs in Andalucía.

The XX annual BlueBBVA seven-a-side ‘Alevín’ National Tournament gets underway this weekend, with Málga CF competing in Granada.  The Blue and Whites are in Group C alongside FC Barcelona, Celta de Vigo, Rayo Vallecano and Levante.

Málaga CF’s ‘Cadete Prefernete’ team is now in Elche for the national finals of the Nike Cup, along with the 12 best ‘Cadete’ teams in Spain.  The group stage gets underway both in the morning and afternoon, on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June.  The final stage takes place on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. at the Martínez Valero between the champions of each group, in preparation for Sunday’s final.

On Sunday 9th June, the ‘Infantiles’ 99 are participating in the I Ciudad de Martos Football Tournament, involving all the best ‘Infantil’ teams from Andalucía.  The ‘Malaguistas’, in Group B, will face Seneca (11:30 a.m.), Betis (1:30 p.m.) and Almería (4 p.m.) looking for one of two places in the final stage of the competition.

Teams within La Academia take part in various end-of-season tournaments, and last weekend, the ‘Juvenil’ boys participated in the international ‘Mundialito’ under-17’s competition.  They lost to Real Madrid (3-0) and River Plate (1-0) and defeated Sampdoria (3-2).
