The Juvenil DH boys are Champions Cup winners and the 2nd Andaluza Alevín team wins the prestigious Arousa International Tournament.
Málaga CF won the youth Champions Cup on Saturday for the second time in history. The team, coached by ex-Malaguista player, Sergio Pellicer qualified for the Champions Cup as the best second-placed team of the seven groups within the División de Honor Juvenil. The final stage of the tournament consisted of the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, held at Las Vinas stadium in Vera (Almería). The juvenil side from MCF’s academy defeated Athletic Club in the quarter-final on penalties; UD Las Palmas in the semi-final by 2-0 with two fantastic goals (Luis and Ontiveros); and Sevilla FC on penalties in the thrilling final, after a 1-1 draw in extra time.
On Sunday, La Academiaclosed a full week, with the 2nd Andaluza Alevín boys winning the Arousa International Tournament. Málaga CF were proclaimed champions of the competition, in which Atlético de Madrid, Valencia CF, Villarreal CF, Real Madrid CF, FC Barcelona, FC Porto and Ajax of Amsterdam competed, amongst others. The Malaguistas, headed up by Rafael Morales and Adrián Pinazo, defeated Ajax of Amsterdam (1-2), coming from behind.
