The head of the Board of Directors of Málaga Club de Fútbol, Abdullah Al Thani and his sons, Nasser and Nayef Al Thani supported the team in Vigo, along with presidential adviser, Ahmed Al-Rajehi; Club adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek and sports director, Francesc Arnau.
The President of the Club was at the team’s hotel, and later watched the match in the VIP box at the Balaídos stadium, along with his counterpart at Celta de Vigo, Carlos Mouriño.
Following the game, Sheikh Al Thani encouraged the coaching team and the players, greeting them one by one in the Blue and Whites’ dressing room.
As stated by Javi Gracia in his press conference: “We spent time with him, he was in the hotel. It’s always an additional factor to ensure things turn out for the better, as we were all thrilled he was there. However, a victory wasn’t possible.”
