Bakary Koné played and won on Sunday with Burkina Faso against Guinea-Bissau, earning a place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Gabon.
This was the third consecutive match for the Malaguista central defender, in which he was in Burkina Faso’s starting line-up and played for 90 minutes. Burkina Faso defeated Guinea-Bissau by 0-2, with a goal from Silva, and an own goal by Traoré.
Koné and his team end the first stage of the tournament in first place in Group A, with 5 points, the same as second-placed Cameroon. Host team, Gabon (3 points), and the aforementioned Guinea-Bissau (1 point) have been eliminated.
On Saturday 28th January, at 17:00, Burkina Faso will face the second-placed team in Group B of the #CAN2017, hoping for a place in the semi-finals of the African continental competition.
