Kilometre 36: Leganés-Málaga

In his second match heading up the team, Pablo Guede achieved his first victory as Malaguista coach. Three points, a clean sheet, good individual and team displays…Lots of positives from matchday 36!

There are several highlights from #LeganésMálaga that we take a look at here in our Blue and White kilometre. Let’s go!

Guede’s first win

Since the official announcement of his appointment as Málaga CF coach, Pablo Guede has made no secret that one of his dreams was coming true. In his second match in the Malaguista dugout he achieved his first win. Claiming four out of a possible six points, the team is acquiring Pablo’s intensity and stamp. Here’s to many more, mister!

Three x three

The number three took centre stage on the visit to Leganés. The three Malaguista goals led to the third victory away from La Rosaleda this season. In addition, in regard to the standings, we put another three crucial points in the Blue and White pot. 10 out of 10!

Happy Birthday Antoñín

The Malaguista striker enjoyed a very special day. Pablo Guede placed him in the starting-11 at Butarque and the Malaguista number ‘15’ responded. At the start he was unlucky following a promising action from the left wing, but he kept on going until he received his birthday gift. First, forcing the first penalty with a great dribble over Omeruo. Then later, converting the second penalty with quality and confidence to put the Malaguista victory on course. Happy Birthday, Antonin!

What a save by Dani Martín

As occurred last week at La Rosaleda, Dani Martín was decisive. The Asturian keeper is currently on top form and his interventions continue giving points to the team. This time around, with the match wide open and shortly after Vadillo scored the 0-1, Dani saved a powerful header by Arnaiz to maintain our advantage on the scoreboard.

Another week gone, +7 in front

Three more points and one matchday less. Despite SD Amorebieta’s win, reducing the gap with the Blue and White to four points, the three points won at Butarque regained Málaga’s seven-point distance from the drop zone. With their matches still to play, Fuenlabrada and Real Sociedad B could narrow their gap. The outfit from the Basque Country could tie with Amorebieta on 34 points, whilst the Madrid-based rival, should they win, will be nine points away from Pablo Guede’s team.
