Kilometre 3: #MálagaAlcorcón

The first home game of the season couldn’t have gone any better for Pellicer’s Málaga, securing a hard-fought victory against AD Alcorcón.

Check out the highlights from yesterday’s 1-0 win at Martiricos in our usual kilometre:

Goal-scorer CR7

During the pre-season and in the last two games he showed his skill with his right foot. Dangerous on the lateral free kicks and corners and precise in orientation changes, Cristian boasts goal arrival and punch. A superb shot led to the Blue and White goal following a good assist from Matos to certify a great day both individually and collectively.

Escassi, defensive captain

It was his dream. Playing with the Blue and Whites at La Rosaleda, and doing so as captain. With Ismael out through injury, Escassi wore the captain’s armband during his third match as a Malaguista. He led a compact, hard-working defence to accumulate two matches on the bounce with a clean sheet, with another new signing, Dani Barrio solid in goal.

Debut of Jozabed

The ninth summer signing debuted with Málaga CF in the second half. He joined the game in minute 65, in place of Orlando Sá in midfield. The other signings also made their debut at La Rosaleda, namely Dani Barrio, Calero, Escassi, Matos, Cristian, Yanis, Caye and the aforementioned Sá, along with homegrown player, Ramón. In stoppage time, reserve team player, Juan Cruz played his first seconds in the silver division with MCF.

6 out of a possible 9 points

Taking into account all the circumstances on and off the pitch recently, the team has enjoyed a positive start to the season in terms of results. The hard work of the coaching team and the players, committed to the cause from the outset of the campaign, had paid off with two consecutive victories out of three in LaLiga SmartBank.

Stunning season debut at home

After a lengthy, intense 19/20 season, La Rosaleda re-opened its doors to the 20/21 campaign following two matches away from home for Málaga CF. With the pitch in perfect condition, only the support from the fans was missing to enjoy this first home win of the season, and a team that has showed commitment and faith to score three wonderful points.
