Last Sunday’s hard-fought victory on LaLiga SmartBank matchday 27 leaves us the following curious stats:
Sadiku and Adrián, in the name of the goal
The Albanian striker has scored the most goals on the team, totalling 10, netting 57% of the Blue and White goals this season. With temperance and security, he scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Juankar in 55’, to take the score level. Like in the last home game, against CD Mirandés, Sadiku shared the goal-scoring with captain Adrián. The number ‘8’ sealed the comeback in minute 89 with a volley from inside the area. A goal that was celebrated as it deserved, full of delight and emotion, as was also seen in the stands.
Eight consecutive games without defeat at Martiricos
La Rosaleda remains strong. Since 12th October 2019 (122 days ago from today, 11th February 2020), the Blue and White fans have not seen their team lose at home. At the Malaguista temple, MCF have obtained two defeats, seven draws and four wins (three out of the last five duels).
Ismael, notable debut at home
First time in the starting line-up for the homegrown player and he performed to perfection. The winger replaced the usual Cifu and played his role with solvency and maturity despite his young age – 18. It was his debut at La Rosaleda, but Ismael has previously officially worn the shirt with the first team in the inaugural LaLiga SmartBank match against Racing de Santander, at Campos de Sport de El Sardinero, on 17th August. Since then he’s played 342 minutes over four official matches, three in the League and one Cup game.
Tete Morente’s Blue and White debut
The striker becomes player number 362 to wear the Blue and White in an official match. The player from Cádiz arrived at the Malaguista discipline during the recent winter transfer window and joined the game in substitution of Hicham in minute 63. In the 29 minutes he was on the pitch, certain aspects of his football could be seen; he also had the chance to score his debut goal, but the rival keeper avoided his glory with an effective save.
