The kids at the MCF Camp will never forget the day when Sergio Gontán ‘Keko’ made a surprise visit. On a relaxed summer morning at the University of Málaga (UMA), where the Malaguista Camp is held, the first team player came to greet the children and have a kick-about with them.
More than 90 kids, who are enjoying this first week of Camp, were in training for nearly an hour with Keko, and took photographs with him. The Blue and Whites’ player was very friendly and joking around.
“The MCF Camps are a great project for the Club. They make it possible for the kids to practice sport over the holidays, and can also lead to the recruitment of young talent for the future”, says Keko to MCFTV.
The Málaga CF winger, who was accompanied at all times by former player and member of the MCF Foundation, Sebastián Fernández Reyes 'Basti', is clear that the boys and girls are our future: “We must find kids who love their city’s team, whose idols are players on their city’s team, and try and fill La Rosaleda every weekend”.
On 3rd July, the second week of the MCF Camp will get underway at the UMA’s facilities. The third and final turn will take place from the 10th to 15th July.
