The penalty: key

“It is a very important point, looking at how the match went.  My teammates attempt to counteract every play from the rival, and I’m there to help them when they’re unable.  During a penalty the goalkeeper is on his own, without any help from his teammates.  Today, thanks to God, I chose the right side and saved the shot, which kept us alive in the game.”

Great team work

“We had various opportunities to not only take the lead, but to score a second goal.  I’m very pleased with the work we did as a team, it shows when players give their all for their teammates.  It’s true that playing against the big rivals has an enormous impact, on a global scale.  We know this, which is why we’re footballers.  We all enjoy competing against the major teams, we’re there too, and can compete well.”

“Many thanks for selecting me, but this recognition isn’t just for the goalkeeper.  I try to help my teammates throughout the match, and I’ll continue to work hard to give the fans the same level of joy as we saw in this game.  Thank you for supporting us and always being there, as without you we couldn’t play great games like we did today.”
