The Malaguistas return to regular competition in División de Honor Group IV this weekend against UCD La Cañada Atlético. The MCF Academy will be defending their championship title this season.
The team, coached this campaign by David Cabello, are starting their participation in División de Honor Juvenil Group IV. The Malaguistas will start the defence of their title – they were group champions last season – against Marbella-based rival, UCD La Cañada Atlético. The match is taking place on Sunday, at 19:00, at theFederación Malagueña de Fútbol.
The Blue and Whites won the last League championship, which gave them a pass to national competition, Copa de Campeones. They gave an extraordinary performance in Galicia, earning a more than deserved second place. After defeating FC Barcelona and RC Celta de Vigo, the Malaguistas suffered a minimal defeat in stoppage time of the grand final against Real Madrid CF.
Málaga CF’s Juvenil boys are bursting with enthusiasm and freshness, with their players (17-18 years), aspiring to demonstrate the good health of the Blue and Whites’ youth ranks. “At a competitive level, we need to try and revalidate our title from last season, and reach the Copa de Campeones for the fourth consecutive year. At a formative level, like always, we will be aiming to develop players who could be ready for Malagueño and even the first team, within 2-3 years”, comments coach, David Cabello to the Club media.
