Press conference
Juanpi: “We’re all eager to move forward”

‘Malaguista’ player, Juanpi Añor held a press conference this afternoon in the press room at La Rosaleda: “My injury now feels much better,” says the Venezuelan-born player.

Injury

“I’m a bit calmer now.  I suffered a blow in training, so I knew I wouldn’t be able to play against Betis as I was trying to ease the pain.  My injury now feels much better, so I hope to resume group training by the end of this week.”

The team and from a personal point of view

“The team is confident we can move forward, which is what we’re working towards.  I focus on the day to day, a player trains hard in order to have the chance to play and feel comfortable on the pitch.  From a personal point of view, I know I can bring many things to the team, so now I’m recovering well and hope to help the team as much as I can.”

Good atmosphere in the dressing room

“There are multiple factors we must improve on and the coach is working on this every day.  There’s a great atmosphere in the dressing room and we’re all eager to move forward.  We never think about losing, it never enters our head.  We work hard every day in the hope of winning at the weekend.”

Next match

“Espanyol are a great team and are performing well.  Last season we claimed a well-earned point at their ground.  We’re all hoping we can end this negative streak of away results and come home with a win, in order to prepare for the match against Granada.”

National team

“I think that this could be my season to show what I can do and the football I’m capable of playing.  I want to show the real Juanpi that’s inside.  The national team?  They have two difficult matches so I wish them all the best and hope they win.”
