Juanmi: “We’re going to the Bernabéu prepared to work hard throughout the match”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Juan Miguel Jiménez López ‘Juanmi’ held a press conference at the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda this morning, to analyse the forthcoming BBVA League game against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

Juanmi begins by talking about the team’s options during the remainder of the season, as well as the coaching team: “This team has always understood the coaching team very well.  We have seven finals left to go in order to qualify for Europe.  We’re capable, enthusiastic and believe we can do it.”

For the ‘Malaguista’ striker, the team’s highest scorer this season with seven goals, the match at the Bernabéu will be very difficult: “Every match generates excitement, but playing at the Santiago Bernabéu will be amazing.  We’re enthusiastic and excited hoping to claim the three points, and focusing on this match in the same way as any other.  We’re training hard in order to prepare in the best possible way, although we know it’s going to be tough.”

Juanmi knows that in order to bring points home from the Bernabéu, the team needs to play a perfect match: “There’s no room for error at the Bernabéu, it’ll be a difficult, hard-fought match and we’ll have to work hard for 90 minutes, which we’re preparing for.  We’re facing a determined rival, and we fully expect an extremely hard game from start to finish.”
