The malaguista forward Juanmi took part and scored in the second game of Spain’s selection in the European U-19 Competition, when the team managed by Ginés Meléndez convincingly beat Serbia 4-0. Morata opened the scores in the 14th minute, with Juanmi making it 2-0 a minute later with Sarabia's assistance. Morata went on to score the other two goals to seal a victory that left Spain – after the triumph against Belgium – mathematically qualified for the semifinals of the tournament, in spite of the fact that there is another game left to play against Turkey in the first phase on 26th July.
