“Juankar and Koné provide even more capacity for speed”

Málaga CF coach, Víctor Sánchez del Amo held a press conference ahead of #MálagaRealOviedo: “We will try to follow the same line. Dominate through possession to generate opportunities”.

#MálagaRealOviedo

“We’re expecting a tremendously disputed match in terms of duels. Real Oviedo, with a change of manager, is seeking to be a very intense, direct team, provoking second plays. You have to adapt by competing in that type of game. We will try to follow the same line. Dominate through possession and try to push them into their half to get closer to their area and generate opportunities. In theory, we’re expecting a match with these characteristics, but highly disputed and with direct play from Oviedo, as well as rapid counter attacks”.

New additions: Juankar and Koné

“We’re delighted with the speed of the team. The incorporation of Juankar and Koné as they return from injury provides even more capacity for speed in the different positions in which they can participate. We believe we have a team with a very high speed capacity”.

Taking care of the fans

“We thank our fans as we feel their support and connection with the team. At this point in the season the support of everyone is essential. That unity, that strength and positive energy, cheering on the players is fundamental in achieving good results. I would like to ask something for our fans, not of them. To give them the opportunity to see their team at the weekend, which is what I believe local fans deserve, that everything is a little more spread out. The schedules are chosen according to the audiences, but you also have to remember that local fans play a big role in a football match. For me they form part of the essence of the star product of football, which is the match. There are the players, the referees, the stadiums and the fans. Everything is better when they are there, so we need to look after the fans to make sure the stadiums are full and there’s a good atmosphere. When selecting the schedules, focusing more on the spectators who are there for the other side, and not the local fans, I don’t believe is fair. I understand the business of football, and the media, but they must be spread out more. The Málaga fans have had less opportunity to see their team at weekends than others. If you look at the stats, the teams that play the most home games during the weekends score more points that those that play outside the weekend hours”.
