Juande: “We want to clinch our first victory”

The Málaga CF coach affirms that Friday’s match (22:00) against RCD Espanyol will be “extremely even”. “The two teams are both eager to please.”

Match against RCD Espanyol

“It’s certainly true that Espanyol have made some good investments, they’ve changed a lot of players.  In the First Division all games are difficult, not just for us, but for all the teams.  The matches are very competitive, very close, very hard-fought, which is what I expect in this game.  It will be an extremely even match.  The team with most success in front of goal will win.”

Equality

“Following their first match of the season in which they were defeated, the rival will be focused on achieving a home win.  Every team believes that when playing at home, with the fans supporting you at your own ground, you are obliged to take the initiative in order to win matches.  It’s going to be a very even game, with both teams eager to please and determined to win.  The team who doesn’t make mistakes and makes the most of the opportunities will take the three points.”

Going for the three points

“We're working intensely, and eager to play the next match to try and achieve our first win.  The match the other day wasn’t brilliant, but we created five or six opportunities to seal victory earlier on.  The lack of accuracy allowed Osasuna to equalise in a counter attack, and there was no time to react.  That’s what hurt the team the most.”
