Jozabed: “The line to follow is today’s match”

The Malaguista midfielder held a post-match press conference after #MálagaCartagena. “We played a pretty complete game, generating lots of goal chances,” he said.

Jozabed held a press conference following the LaLiga SmartBank matchday 29 fixture between the Blue and Whites and FC Cartagena. The Sevilla-born player analysed the game: “We played a pretty complete game, generating lots of goal chances. We took the lead and were very good in defence. They hardly created any opportunities, in their only shot at goal in 95’, from a bicycle kick, they got a goal. We’re being punished with the smallest details, and we need to keep working hard. The line to follow is today’s match.”

Talking about the dressing room and how he feels under Natxo’s orders, Jozabed added: “We’re angry, more than anything else. Losing those two points in stoppage time… Our central defenders were winning the duels, it’s very upsetting considering the situation we’re in. Winning the three points would have been great. I feel really good working with the coach, today I played further back, but I’m just as comfortable as when I play upfront.”

To end his press conference, the Malaguista player highlights the team’s improvement in defence. “Since the coach arrived, he’s stressed to us the need to improve in defence. We’ve been getting better since he’s been here. It’s been very tough for us to take the lead and today we lost two points. We felt comfortable attempting to safeguard the result, it was going well until the very last minute,” said the Blue and White number ‘19’.
