Josemi will occupy the position of team delegate

Former Blue and Whites’ player, Josemi González will be the first team’s new team delegate, starting in his new role within the Club as from tomorrow, Thursday.

José Miguel González Rey, born in Torremolinos 37 years ago, was a player with Málaga CF between 2000 and 2004, forming part of the historic squad managed by Joaquín Peiró, who took the Club to European competition for the first time in history, going on to win the Intertoto Cup, and reaching the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup.

During his long career as a player, highlights include winning the UEFA Champions League title with English side, Liverpool in the 2004/05 season, as well as great success with teams including Villarreal CF, RCD Mallorca and international experience in Greece and India.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Josemi will begin his new duties in the first team’s training session at the Ciudad de Málaga, and he plans to travel to Vila-real at the weekend for MCF’s League clash on Sunday (12:00, Estadio de la Cerámica) in Castellón.
