José González: “We have to compete, we owe it to the shield”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference in the run-up to the match against Levante UD: “The fans demand that the team gives a complete performance and shows professionalism”.

#LevanteMálaga

“We have to go out there to win the game. We don’t know what will happen from tomorrow. We’re going to play the match with the intention of winning. This is a good moment for Levante. The calendar has gone in their favour and they’re enjoying a moment of euphoria. This is practically like a final for them. I have to focus on that, on mentally preparing my players, as tomorrow they’ll be faced with a hostile, high-pressure environment. For Levante it’s a decisive match”.

Compete

“We have to compete. We owe it to the Club and the shield. Against Levante we have to try to win. We’ve been very close in our last two away fixtures. We’ve just lacked that bit of good fortune, so let’s see if we’re lucky tomorrow”.

Future

“I can’t think about the future right now. The future I have is tomorrow. The team has to perform. I think that every Málaga CF fan tomorrow will demand that the team gives a complete performance, shows professionalism, feels the colours and wears the jersey with pride. That’s the intention, that tomorrow we’re the same as we’ve been for a long time, although unfortunately we’ve not had positive results. In Vigo and Coruña we were close to a positive result, but it didn’t happen. We’ll see if we can do it tomorrow”.
