José González: “I have reasons to believe in my players”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference in the lead-up to the match against RC Deportivo de La Coruña: “We hope to bring a victory home to excite our fans”.

Victory against Villarreal

“Victory is comforting in many aspects whilst defeat is a punishment. It’s very difficult to raise spirits every week to face the next game with sufficient morale to compete, but my players always have. This week is far more straightforward. The players are focused on this match and know of its importance. Mentally speaking, they are better than ever”.

#DéporMálaga

“We’re going to be the same as always. Hopefully we’ll be fortunate in front of goal. I’m certain we’ll have our situations. With regard to Dépor, perhaps they are a little more unpredictable. They’ve changed systems and players. In the last match they conveyed a different image to previous games. They may look a little more like that this week. We have prepared for whether they play in a diamond formation or a line of four. We’re ready for any scenario”.

RC Deportivo de La Coruña

“There’s going to be a strong atmosphere. We’re talking about a great club with a great fan base, who have also taken some knocks. In our case as we saw last Sunday, and against Sevilla and Valencia, if you give something to your fans, who are wonderful supporters in this case, they really get behind you. I expect the same. If Dépor is doing well, the fans will take them flying, but if they’re not doing so well, they’ll be more critical of their team”.

Trust

“I trust in my players and have reasons to believe in them. I’m sure they’ll compete phenomenally well tomorrow again. We hope to bring a victory home to excite our fans”.
