Joaquín leaves the week’s first session early due to discomfort

Málaga Club de Fútbol trained this morning, Monday 23rd January, at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium.

The session’s big news was the return of Joaquín who trained with his teammates who did not participate in yesterday’s match against FC Barcelona.  However, the Cádiz-born player left the session before it had concluded due to some discomfort for which he will now undergo medical tests in order to determine the level of the injury.

Those players who did take part in the Barcelona clash had a lighter recovery session out on the pitch whilst Santi Cazorla and Ruud Van Nistelrooy worked out in the gym.  Also joining those two players were Helder Rosario, Rubén and Julio Baptista, who are working through recovery treatments for their respective injuries.

Also at this morning’s session were the Club’s General Manager, Fernando Hierro and the Sporting Director, Antonio Fernández, who shared thoughts with Manuel Pellegrini at the beginning of the training.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the first squad will have a day off before returning to traning on Wednesday 25th January with their sights set on the derby against Sevilla which takes palces on Sunday 29th January at La Rosaleda at 9.30 p.m.
